Voter Engagement

Outreach

Through phone and text banking, the MAAY Foundation has reached out to over 21,000 Asian-Americans in 2022, providing critical information for voter education and access.

Language Access and Translation Services

The MAAY Foundation has translated election information into four languages, including (Simplified) Chinese, Korean, Hindi, and Telugu. These translations were disseminated in ethnic newspapers and over social media, fulfilling a need that has long been ignored.

Registration

Being able to vote and play an active role in our democracy is one of the highlights of citizenship. Voting allows us to express our opinions on how our schools and parks are run, as well as how taxpayer money is spent. It is important for Asian Americans to vote so that elected officials will hear our concerns around issues including school bullying, small business, and immigration.

Family Ties

We believe in starting kids off early by bringing them to the polls. In 2021, we held voter appreciation events to encourage families to go out to vote. See our coverage in the Post Dispatch and the St. Louis Chinese American News.
